I Learned Architectural and Mechanical drafting before computers, using a pencil and T-Square. I excelled in art as well as tinkering with cars and engines. Served in the Air Force for 4 years working on F-4 and F-16 fighter jet electronic and weapons systems. Gained a working knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical and Fluid mechanics along with a standard that nothing but perfection will do. Honorably discharged, receiving the Air Force Achievement Medal. I have now retired from working with the same Company for 30 years in electronic security. Starting with Systems installation and Service. NICET Certified Fire Alarm Engineer, Systems design and integration. It is time to create a new success story. In the shop, all of these skills come together. I end up with some really special ideas and results. All created without a deadline or other pressures. Perfection marks when something is completed. Whether it is a Lamp, a vase, bowl, or a one off unique idea. There are times I plan a specific build. But often I just start with a blank stock, or spindle of wood. An array of parts. Put everything aside and just work with the material. No rush, just let the process of creating something happen. Changing as it develops. It is a whole lot of fun to make something that fills a need, or a piece for display. Then see the enjoyment of someone when they have it.
